I've been trying to come up with a solution that doesn't require  
passing the current color to the color picker.  Maybe just a little  
"x" in a box?

I thought that should be left to be put in the html so that the user  
has more control over how it looks.

That's doable, but at some point we will be providing too many  
choices.  Another option is a larger swatch that changes color as you  
hover over each color.

Thoughts?
