PS:

The effect is not limited to Linux 64bit systems. The same error
appears on my 32bit workstation:

./firefox-bin: symbol lookup error: 
/usr/lib/jvm/java-7-sun/jre/lib/i386/libnpjp2.so: undefined symbol: _stricmp
