I read with interest the following instructions from
this page of the jmol wiki:

http://wiki.jmol.org/index.php/Jmol_Applet#Installing_Jmol_Applet

<snip>
Although this isn't obvious, the molecule that
is being shown in the applet can be saved to
local disk (even from the unsigned applet).

To do so:
1. Open the applet's menu
2. Click on the last entry (About...).
3. On the submenu that appears, click
on the first entry (name of model).
4. Then click on the last entry
   (View + name of file)
5. Depending on your browser's configuration,
the file will be opened in the associated
program ("helper application") or you will
get an "Open or Save" dialog; choose Save
   and location in your disk.
</snip>

I am quite interested in being able to open
the structure in Chem Draw but when I try
it, what happens is that a link to the word "string"
is generated. I don't have either a file named
string or a directory named string on my web server
so as expected, the web server returns a 404 "resource
not found" message.

It seems to me, that this is a very nice feature, but
to work, jmol would need to post the current structure
to the web server and then the web server would have
to serve it back to the browser with the correct
conent-type (sometimes called mime type) header.

In addition to refencing a non-existant program,
there was no payload sent along with the request
in the form of get, post or file data which I
perceive as being necessary.

A) Any ideas on how to make this work?

 and

B) What is the file type that comes back to
the browser so that I could configure my
browser to open Chem Draw as the helper
application mentioned in the documentation?

Thanks in advance,
Ted
