Hello I think that using Jmol for just displaying several 2D structures is overkill. >From your MOLfiles many pieces of software can offer a display. For example, JME is much ligther than Jmol. Or you probably should try some of the html+javascript based viewers that do not rely on Java. Reading the database should not be a problem if you know how to use e.g php to fill in the webpage. I think that sorting rows goes into the same field (php) or maybe you can use some ready-made libraries for that task (I just tried "sortable html tables" in Google and solutions come out).
