That is most likely a problem with Java security policies, which change with 
nearly every Java update.

It's not easy to say, but you probably need to change the folder location of 
your files relative to JmolApplet files.
Another choice is to use the signed applet. That is less restrictive.

You are browsing the page from a web server, aren't you?
If you are on local disk then the security limitations are bigger but they go 
away when you upload to server.
