We used to have odd numbers for development prereleases, even numbers 
for production releases (12.0, 12.2,... 13.0, 13.2). Was it not that way?

Of course I have no objection with your numbering and compiling, and seing 
the dates is useful.
It's just that there has always been this official broadcast or releases and 
prereleases, and I've been keeping it in the wiki. I agree it is making no much 
sense in the actual way most of us are working.
But anyway I want to write a number for the public to see: "if you are using 
this or later, then you work this way".
