TCP/IP stack in Linux is constantly under work. However, I am not in any position to tell you if this project is beyond your means or not. The info you need is available on the net in various forms. You could join the Linux kernel mailing list and ask there. You may get answers from the very people who wrote thing. Just make sure you ask a specific question on such lists. Don't tell them your story. Do your homework and then ask. You will get much better answers that way. Wish you the best of luck and happy hunting.
