No. actually brats are the ones who whine and never ask for anything.

I think we can arrange for something giving the right setup.

We will need:

- A place for lecture or presenmtation
- A local team (1 person minimum) to handle booking place, getting
permissions, hand out flyers, post announcements on campus, chair the
session, present the speaker, setup projectors...

- A bunch of Jolugers will make the trip if it is on a non work day.

I don't understand what that means.

OK. Here is the mistake that many are falling into.

All definitions of Linux start with: Linux is a UNIX like OS.

You have all that great heritage built into it with the twist of GNU and
Open Source added in in the last 20 years or so.

I started using Linux partly because it looked exactly like the Sun OS
account at my university in early nineties. I coveted that root access so
much too.

I was able to use the exact facilities like, pine, lynx, emacs, vi, cc,
mail, netscape, mosaic, x window, and such. Taking over the wold was a much
later idea.

Cutting edge technologies and innovations were not showing on the lesser
platforms. Web browsers like Netscape and Mosaic existed on UNIX and UNIX
like OSs first and slowly appeared on others because their underlying
structure was not made with multitasking in mind.

Unix was a multiuser and multitasking design right from the start. Early
seventies. Today Linux as a UNIX like OS is running everything from your
cell phone to supper computers running the phone company itself. Your
friend, if he has an gram of intelligence, must realize that an OS booting
on such a plethora of hardware is not the result of a bunch of kids picking
their noses. Can he imagine being able to run his favorite OS on Apple
hardware? Sun hardware? IBM hardware? Amiga? and the list goes on and
on........

It is a pity that a computer science student in a Jordanian university is
not exposed to anything but PC platform. Professors of such institutions
must be ashamed of themselves. They are cheating their students because they
are very lazy to say the least.

I think we should add some history lessons to our web site. (note to self)

There are no Microsoft products anywhere in mission critical system any
where in organizations like NASA.

Kewl. We await your plan.
