I have to repeat, this appears to me to be a discussion about a 
non-existent problem.

Nikolaus, have you actually tried the passthrough technique I described to 
you this morning? You shouldn't have to resort to tricks with shorting out 
RMI, it's not necessary.

Hey boys, calm down,

we should work together and find a way to debug our stuff. I have although
heard from other people that they are able to debug remote objects by using
a straightforward trick: not making them remote objects and shortout RMI. 
So
the question is if Jonas can do this if both the client and the server run
in the same VM.
Of course I can start the server in my external debugger (IBM distributed
debugger, comes with VAJ), but by now not from the IDE (VAJ).
