Diane, I can't speak for all parents, but I can relate to your post for sure!
I'm a couple years away from "Empty Nest" syndrome, and the bittersweet experience of
hoping that you've given your 'sweet bird' the wings to fly, but my 10th-grade son has
his first girlfriend, and they are both all mushy for each other. He's in a state of
bliss now, but I can't help but think that it will end at some point and he'll have to
deal with the heartbreak. Makes me sad to think about it, but it's a part of life...
