ALSO...At the tribute....I was sitting in front of Anne Michaels (author of the award-winning novel "Fugitive Pieces" which is one of the most beautiful books written in the past ten years!) She kept carrying on about Joni as a brilliant poet...which is high praise from a writer who has been praised for her poetry and novels by several of her peers, especially Michael Ondaatje!
