Vince, LOL!!!  "JAG" stands for "Judge Advocate General," and the show
is about Navy lawyers.  I watch it religiously.

But about that other "jag":  the phrase must not be limited to Chicago,
because I certainly heard "jagoff" growing up in Pittsburgh.  Being the
sweet young thing that I was back then, I hadn't a clue about its
connotations of. . . ahem. . . enjoyment.  I did know, however, that the
term wasn't one anyone wanted directed at them.
