ON THE OTHER HAND, i was listening to a set of 24 songs that i wrote in 1987
and that i have recovered [long story, you'll be the first to know,
stevie...] and guess what? all laura nyro, not a trace of joni. i can't
believe the chest notes i had in those years, all gone now, i only have the
top register left to comfort me in my old age. you should hear these songs.
pure laura nyro, and at least five of them damn good. i wish i knew how to
play and sing them now.
