Hi Kate- I have a gig to day and will be playing While My Guitar Gently Weeps, If I Needed Someone, All Things Must Pass, Here Comes The Sun, and Across Thea Universe (+ a bunch of Joni). Yesterday was such a dark day for me, but George does not have to wait any longer to meet his Lord and that is good for him. Yesterday morning Mikey came to my bed and very gently woke me up. "Dad?", he said softly. One eye opens amidst the scary tangled web of bed head, "Yes Mikey". "George died!", and he patted me gently knowing of the pain he was delivering to me. It was if he was telling me of a family member or something. No last name or further explanation needed. Frogs attacked my throat and waterfalls my eyes. Kids are so unbelieveable. They are all coming to the party today so we will get to sing George and Beatle songs together. I did a benefit show last night at the Howlin' Wolf. There were several dedications to George, but nobody knew any of his songs so guess what they played John and Paul songs. Poor George, even in death he takes a back seat. Brian Stoltz was the guitar player in the house band for the evening and had a smokin set. He also accomapanied Timothea (the organizeer of the benefit for Hepatitis C Awareness-more info at www.sirentowail.org) on a version of Presence of the Lord by Clapton, which was just stellar.
