A very nice Canadian woman (no, not Joni) got in touch with me off list to 
tell me that "Portrait of a Leg End" was a pun on "legend," which I admit I 
didn't get. But I am still wondering, is "leg end" a British expression for 
what we would call in the US "leftovers?"
