My info may not be correct - I've seen reports of his sentence anywhere from 11 to 16 years and some articles say he had prior arrests (but nothing serious as far as I can tell). Still, from what I've read this was way too harsh of a sentence - much more harsh than is usual. My take from what I've read in the past is that he may have been treated unfairly simply because he is unique and eccentric. He has already served six years.
