Nuriel, Just about everything I've learned about Joni I read in the articles section of the JMDL site, so the resources are there for everyone! There are so many amazing interviews with her over the years. I think she also may have mentioned something about Buddhism and Christianity at the PWWAM taping in '98. She has spoken of turning to God in tough times and there was something I either read or listened to recently where she said she even went through a slightly born-again Christian phase around the Ladies of the Canyon time frame, which I found surprising. It seems to me like she has developed a very full and broad/universal spirituality and I do perceive that in much of her lyrics.
