Hi John, welcome back! Of course I remember you because I almost was a stowaway on your roadtrip to Ashara's for her first Jonifest! Glad to see you back here.
I'm certainly not an *expert* on these boots, but I do know a little. The Hinton book for all its faults does have some good info on some of these boots. <<The first track is "Night In The City." It's listed on the CD I have as "Lights Out In Georgia." >> >From what I've read on this "Lights Out In Georgia" bootleg, it's most likely a >composite of several different shows. You're right, the song titles are screwy, as is >common with boots. <<The next one is a show with Joni and James Taylor. >> Yes, this is their 1970 concert, broadcast on the BBC (hence the good sound). This show has been booted as a lot of different titles ("He's Got A Friend Named Joni", "For Free" among others), and was treed early on here and included the soundcheck songs. The one you have is out of order and incomplete. This show was most likely recorded in early December '70 and was broadcast on 12/20/70. <<I'm in the process of cleaning up the recordings right now. There are two other discs, one called "Winter Lady" and the other called "Spring Songs." They both have songs I've never heard before.>> Winter Lady is a '72 show, I think...I'll have to check out the details on that one. Spring Songs is her Feb '74 show at Duke University (right in your backyard, John). The 2-record boot documents about half of the show, I think. We have a list member who was at that show! Glad to have you back, John! Bob NP: Crowded House, "Don't Dream It's Over" 9/15/91
