Ok, I hope this all comes out right....I've been glancing thru some posts over the past couple of days and there's been some talk about Alicia Keys receiving 5 awards at the Grammys, it seems to be ruffling some feathers. Personally I think the Grammys along with all other award shows are BS, yep I said it.... BS! I have the Alicia Keys CD and love it, not as much as Joni but I think she has talent and stands out from most other carbon copied MTV midriff girlies.....anyway, I just think that music is way too subjective to be judged in this manner, call me a cynic but 99,9% of the heavy hitter awards : Best Album, Best new Artist etc..... all have videos on MTV, they are products of marketing research. To me Joni is a once in a lifetime miracle of creative genius and what makes her extra wonderful is that the tiger can't tame her. In 1969 was the award about how much $$$ you could make the producers??? That's what the Grammys seem like to me these days. I mean come on any award show that Pamala Anderson is presenting at I can't take too seriously :) Oh and Bob Dylan most certainly freaked me out a bit, he looked as though he should've been drinking a mint julep and saying something like "I do declare".
