You folks in Wisconsin getting this too?  I am so ready for spring!

It hasn't been that bad, but we did have a brief snowfall last week.  I was
very excited to see a flock of robins a couple weeks ago, but my best friend
(who is also a naturalist) informed me that the winter was so mild this year
that they never left!  I resent them anyway.  Why did they choose the robin
for our state bird when they all leave in the winter?!  Wimps!

I had an impressive bird moment about 3 years ago.  I was driving to work on
a very busy freeway, when I saw a snowy owl sitting on the off-ramp!  I
thought I had dreamed it!  Very cool.
