I think Thelonious Monk would have liked Paprika Plains in places. When she stops the show to repeatedly bang a single note, it reminds me of Monk. She uses the same sense of dramatic stillness at the beginning of "Chinese Cafe". Yummy. Have I ever told you guys that I sorta like Joni's piano playing.... a little?
