I thought I was the only one who disliked this movie. Then I thought hmmm...maybe it was because I got stuck with seats in the second row, which not only distorted the images, cramped my neck, but also made me jump out of my seat every time I heard a BANG.
I also am one of the few people who absolutely hated American Beauty, finding it so full of visual and psychological cliche's, that it was humerous. Because of my crappy seats, I can't fairly assess the photography. But I thought Tom Hank's performance was his weakest. Bob, I know you disagree, but it just felt flat. The violence disturbed me, but then...seeing a grasshopper get squashed is enough to upset me. The best thing about the movie, to me, was Paul Newman and the kid actor. Terry www.addconsults.com << Wondering if anyone has seen "Road to Perdition" with Tom Hanks and Paul Newman. I've read some of the hype on it (not the in-depth articles because I don't want to find out what happens). I was deeply disturbed by the never-ending violence in it and thought to myself, "what's the difference between this and some Schwarzenegger movie??" Except for the more cartoon-like elements to Ah-nold's movies, I'm afraid I should have gone to see the new Ausin Powers ... I'd like to hear someone else's comments. >>
