I was listening to Harry Nilsson's wonderful album of Randy Newman songs
(Nilsson sings Newman) this morning. In addition to wondering at just what a
great singer he was, and how great the songs are, and how open they are to
different interpretations - anyone who has heard Mathilde Santing's also
sublime album of Newman covers will know that - I was amazed that it only
lasts a touch over 25 minutes! Can anyone think of a shorter album, at least
from the time when LPs were the norm?
