I am living in Vancouver....haven't been out much at jams or things like that since I've been here, but I think the Railway Club (www.therailwayclub.com) has some open stages. They used to have something called "Girls with Guitars" every couple of weeks, a kind of jam, but I don't know if that's still happening. And I know of a couple songwriters circles I could put you in touch with. Vancouver is a beautiful city....lots of interesting, inexpensive dining (best, cheapest sushi anywhere), a vibrant downtown that works both as a center of commerce and as well as a happening place to live. I live right downtown in the heart of the West End, near English Bay, a few blocks from the water in a queer-friendly district that boasts the most densely populated square mile in North America (www.seethewestend.com) Let me know when you're coming, Angela.
