One of the bands that plays a lot around here, Saffire, has a mostly lesbian
following. I've seen them live a number of times and while I noticed that, it
certainly is not any kind of issue. Ani Difranco of course is even more so...when I
saw her in Asheville last year, there was me (45-year old white bread guy),the Italian
couple I was with, and 5,000 young girls with shaved heads and misc body jewelry.
Again, it didn't bother me, and my presence didn't seem to upset anyone, though they
probably thought I was a narc! :~) We were all just grooving to the music, and let's
face it, in terms of relationship issues, they are the same whether the sexes are
opposite or the same.

Paradoxically, it is BECAUSE of my Christianity that I love and accept all people and
hope for the same in return. But it is often within the confines of the Christian
church where minds seem to be the most closed.

Just another reason why the world should be more like a JONIFEST!! :~)
