I attended a taping of the Letterman show about 6 years ago and will agree 100% with this. During commercial breaks, Dave would stand up and pace nervously back and forth, ignoring the guest in the chair and barking orders to the stage hands. Seconds before the camera began rolling, he'd sit back down and turn into the animated Dave once again. I thought it quite odd behavior.If this is true about Letterman, then it coincided with what Annie Lennox once said in the interview that Letterman did not talk to her when they are off the air and would suddenly become overly animated when the cameras are rolling.
