Seasons Greetings One and All! Just wanted to let you know that I will be doing my last gig for 2002: This Saturday, December 7th at the Anthropologie Store on the 3rd Street Promenade in Santa Monica, CA at 2:00 pm. It will be about an hour long set with my guitarist extraordinaire Simone Sello. The kindly folks at Anthropologie love the new Concrete Love album and have been playing it in their stores and have asked me to come down and entertain the Merry Santa Monica Christmas Shoppers. I have taken their support as a sign that I am clearly meant to buy that gorgeous bright green teapot with the pink fairy butterfly on the side that's in the shop window that I've had my eye on for weeks now. For some gals it's matching shoes and handbags, and for others, it's matching teapots and cups and saucers, and for me, well, it's BOTH!
It's official ... I've finally arrived in Hollywood. I've been asked to sing the end song for the Christmas episode of ... SCOOBY DOO! It's a duet actually, that features a wonderful new singer songwriter called Johnathan Rice. He's just this second signed to Warner Bros. and has a voice as rich and delicious as sister Claire's annual Christmas cake, that she starts baking in November but won't let me sample until December the flaming 25th! So after those meddling kids have unmasked the Yuletide evil doer, and Shaggy, Scoob, Velma, Fred and Daphne are done saving the world, listen out for Johnathan and I singing "Merry Christmas Day" - written in fact by sister Claire's rather talented boyfriend Rich Dickerson. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh ... nepotism, ya gotta love it! A SCOOBY DOO CHRISTMAS Friday, December 13th - 8:30 pm (PST) - WB Channel (check your local listing for time) MAY YOUR CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR BE FILLED WITH TERRIFIC GIFTS AND CHOCOLATES, GOOD WILL AND GOOD WINE. LOVE, JULIA P.S. Thanks to all of you incredibly supportive folks who came down to the Subterania gig in London. I was extremely touched by your big, fat, huge, warm welcome. Brother Mark did well, didn't he, with the old Curtis Stigers bit in "Where Does The Time Go"?
