I feel dreadful about this. I never got to talk with Karin at the fest, and
realise now that what I took for reservedness was probably just the
discomfort of her illness. I wish I had made more of an effort. Terrible,
that someone can go so fast.
Please, Ashara, give her husband and Uwe my (and doubtlessly everyone
else's) deepest feelings of sympathy.

PS Another big hug to you for your sad loss, Ashara. I gave my mongrel
Barney an extra hug last night, thinking of your Pippin. We lost our tame
cockatiel by stupid accident about 5 years ago, and I was depressed for at
least a week, wondering how this tiny bunch of feathers and bones had formed
such an individual bond with us. He would sit on our shoulder and sing the
Yellow Submarine! These are the real miracles of life...
