on other matters.
it seems like i'm always defending judy collins on these lists
but anyone who calls her music passionless
certainly has NEVER listened to her
early folk albums.
stirring full of passion and feeling
i mean have you HEARD "someday soon?" ("who knows..." lp)
"tomorrow is a long time????" (j c fifth album)
"the great silkie?" (second album-"golden apples...")
give these albums a chance.
What about "Innisfree"? That song will be sung at my funeral!!!! That is where I want to go ...a place as beautiful as Innisfree. There is not a song on Judy's first 10 albums that I can't sing along with. Not that I sing that well but I know all the words. "Anathea, Liverpool Lullaby, The Bonnie Boy is Young, Winter Sky..." it's is just transporting!!! I'm not sure where i get transported to, but it is someplace very nice. Nobody has covered "I Think it's Going to Rain Today" with so much precision (and this song has been covered almost just as many times as many Joni tunes). As far as "Send in the Clowns" passionless?? Preposterous!!
Count me in on defending Judy whenever you need back-up. We might just have to set up our own little execution display.(Just joshing-don't even own a gun- and I live in Miami.)

Will
