So, I'm wondering, do we all share a Joni subconscious
when we put on a record, dim the lights, and shut
our eyes?
Hejira: is a mixed bag for me, flowing in and out of light and
dark..."Coyote" is very bright to me, a winter road trip with sunlight
causing snowblindness. "Hejira" always reminds me of the opening scene from
"Fiddler on the Roof", the camera sweeping over the night rooftops of a
small cold town, reflective, distant. But "Refuge" is actaully light for me,
greens, grays and whites swirl in this song when I close my eyes.
HOSL: reminds me of really nice silver rings and bracelets, if I ever get my
bench set up I am cranking this album and sitting down to create!
DJRD: warm and dreamy, which is what it seems she was going for, vibrant
C&S: everytime I hear this album I want to bust out really good wine and
cheese, or indulge in what ever is around :)) It triggers something making
me always feel stronger.
TTT: smooth purple velvet, scotch on the rocks, laughter mixed with
reflective silence.
LOTC: Dusty afternoon sunlight on worn wooden floors, innocence, I just see
Joni's beautiful face in my mind when I hear this album.
thanks for asking such a creative question!!!
