Funny - I was saying that to someone a few weeks ago. That's when I went
through my trauma with her vocal changes! I got past it to some extent but
still mourned the changes a bit over the years. Strangely, to me her T-Log
voice sounds like an improvement over past years. Yes, there are some
aurally awkward moments, but overall I like what I am hearing. It may be
because she is revisiting her old classics in a new way that I hear as very
beautiful, so the vocal deterioration doesn't affect me as much.

On another note - I have this, perhaps crazy, feeling that this is not the
end of her music career. I really feel that she could come back in a few
years with something quite awesome and original. Maybe this can happen if
she can get past the bother and pressures of dealing with the ups and downs
of the music biz and feel more unrestricted pure joy in creating. She
*could* possibly defy conventional wisdom and do an indie project at some
point. It is not impossible. I don't have a problem either way with this
being the end or not. A great fantasy for the future is seeing her pop up
and sing impromptu more from time to time in little cafes. I still read
reports here in L.A. that she does this occasionally when the spirit hits
her. Damn that I have missed those occasions! ;-)
