Then again, there's the Simpsons episode where Homer
tries to fix the toaster, which becomes a time
machine, which sends him back to the dinosaur era. He
tries to be really careful not to kill anything but a
mosquito bites him and he smacks it. When he goes back
to the present (by pressing the toaster down), things
have totally changed. He goes back to the past again
and every time he goes back and forth, his world has
totally changed. Ultimately he just whacks and kills
everything in sight, goes back to the present where
everything appears to be normal until dinner time,
when Marge and the kids end up having reptile tongues.
At this point, he decides it's good enough and stays there.
