I'd be interested in copies of those discs, Jim. Send me your mail address. Before I joined this list last Nov. I had long since given up on finding anything new from Joni Mitchell that I would like. Thanks to Rick in BC and Bob in SC I now have many discs of live unreleased performances and have played them constantly for the last 3 months, along with Travelogue which I enjoy very much. However I agree with TraderJohn, the sound quality on most of them is the pits. My dream-come-true would be to have good copies of "Club 47 Cambridge", "Couriers Folk Club UK", "Gerdes Folk City","WMMR Interviews", and anything else from the 1967-68 era. I have "Second Fret Sets" which has very good sound and is a MUST-HAVE for everyone on this list.
I'm actively looking for vinyl bootlegs to make CDs from. I've had a couple of possible leads but it's very difficult when the intermediaries are not Joni fans. Speaking of the Second Fret Sets, has anyone noticed in that early (first?) performance of Cactus Tree Joni sings: "As she fears no one will ask her for eternity" The final version on STAS is: "For she fears that one will ask her for eternity" The meaning was changed to the opposite. Just a curiosity. It's been a long and cold winter here (Ontario), -25 last night. "The trees are shivering in a naked row" Doug
