Hi Mary,
We don't want to ruin any plans by any Chapter or Set. That's all.
We don't know what they are planning and it will be unfair to make them stop
because of this.
stay blessed,
Adam

Subject: RE: [Jos Commandos] CSS JOS Intervention Fund
Great idea guys but why complicate things with the statement below?
''PS. Please note that this Project does not stop any Chapter or Set from doing
their bit for CSS Jos, we just feel our impact will be bigger when we all gang
up together.''
The project at hand is major and requires proper coordination and planning. I
also believe is gives every ex-commmand graduate the opportunity to be part of
something great.

Subject: [Jos Commandos] CSS JOS Intervention Fund
CSS JOS Intervention Fund
Every Alumni of Command Secondary School, Jos ("CSS Jos")
is aware that our dear Alma mater is in a bad state and
requires urgent attention especially in the area of
infrastructure. We hereby propose the creation of an
Intervention Fund that will be sourced from amongst all
Jos Commandos. Using "Set-Coordinators", the idea entails
that the first 17 Sets of CSS Jos contribute 1 million
naira per set resulting in 17 million.
We will also vigorously pursue the possibility of getting
match-grants from Organisations so as to raise the amount
to 34million. The Project will be coordinated by a committee
made up of the Chairs of the Five known Chapters: Lagos,
Abuja, PH, USA and UK-Ireland. The Project is planned with
an eye on the 35th Anniversary Celebrations of CSS Jos in
September 2012.
Please find below the summary of the Project for your
perusal. We are open to useful suggestions from you.
Thank you.

PS. Please note that this Project does not stop any Chapter
or Set from doing their bit for CSS Jos, we just feel our
impact will be bigger when we all gang up together.
CSS JOS Intervention Fund Project
1. What is the deal?
1.1. Raising 17m (Seventeen million naira only) by
April 2012
1.2. (With the hope of having it matched to 34m)
2. Why? What for?
2.1. To fix up any identified need in the school.
2.2. To build, renovate, replace etc. any identified need.
3. How?
3.1. The 17 Sets from 1982 to 1999 will contribute
1 million naira per Set.
4. When? How soon?
4.1. In Six months (November 2011 to April 2012)
4.2. The idea is to visit CSS Jos during the 35th
Anniversary of CSS Jos in September 2012 to announce
which Projects we want to embark on.
5. Who is to Co-ordinate?
5.1. Each Set should appoint "Set Coordinators" for this
Project who will rally their Set mates, collect the
monies and forward the 1m when they hit the target.
6. Who is to collect?
6.1. Set Coordinators
7. Where is the final bank account?
7.1. That is being worked out.
7.2. A reliable Bank like First Bank, Zenith, GTB will
be used, if possible.
7.3. An interest-yielding account will be opened, if
possible.
8. Tips for all Sets
8.1. Get organized!
8.2. Choose your Set Coordinator.
8.3. Get the list of all your Set Mates (you can find it
in the 25th and 30th Anniversary Publication or
online here:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/JosCommandos/files/ )
8.4. Get a trusted person to handle your money o!
8.5. The more of your Set mates that commit to the project
the less you will pay. (See the FAQ on "How much
should I expect to contribute?")
8.6. Please each Set should appoint a Financial Secretary
to keep records of all the members that paid.
9. Sub-committees:
9.1. COORDINATION & IMPLEMENTATION
9.1.1. The Main Coordinating Group that will supervise how
the 17m is being spent.
9.1.2. It will comprise the Chairs of the USA, UK-Irl,
Lagos, Port Harcourt and Abuja. Five members in total.
9.2. COUNTER-PART FUNDING SEARCH
9.2.1. This sub-committee will help get Organisations who
will agree to provide counter-part funding. If they
are successful, our 17m may be doubled to 34m!!!
9.2.2. Ideal members will be people working with NGO's.
9.2.3. We need three members.
9.3. ADMIN & LEGAL
9.3.1. These Guys will take care of the paper work.
9.3.2. They will write to all the Authorities necessary like
the Nigerian Army Education Corps, MoD, Commandant,
G.O.C. etc. we need to.
9.3.3. They will prepare any contract documents.
9.3.4. Lawyers, Administrators, Military Personnel etc.
9.3.5. We need at least 4 members which must include 2 Lawyers.
9.4. SPECIAL DUTIES
9.4.1. Any other issue that comes up will be handled by this
sub-committee.
9.4.2. (Example: If an Event is planned for the Opening
Ceremony of whatever we build with the funds raised.)
9.4.3. Publicity (via website, e-mail, electronic Media etc.)
will also be handled by them.
9.4.4. The website or webpage devoted to this project will
be updated by this group.
9.4.5. We will need at most 5 very versatile Commandos here.
Tried and trusted. People who deliver. Each Chapter
can nominate their best man or woman.

11. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
11.1. Question: How much should I expect to contribute?
10 people will contribute 100,000
20 people will contribute 50,000
50 people will contribute 20,000
100 people will contribute 10,000
150 people will contribute 6,667
200 people will contribute 5,000
11.2. Question: Can I pay in $$$ or £££?
Answer: Fine. Just sort it out with your Set Coordinator.
11.3. Question: Is it going to be an on-going thing? Every Year?
Answer: There are currently no plans to make it yearly.
Let's just concentrate on this first attempt and
make it a success. All Sets have always been free
to come together and do something for CSS Jos.
11.4. Question: I don't know where my set mates are!
Answer: Every Set has someone who seems to know where
everyone else is. Find that person in your Set and
link up. Or search "command secondary school" on Facebook.
11.5. Question: I have forgotten my Set mates!
Answer: You can find all the list of CSS Jos Alumni in the
25th and 30th Anniversary Publications. There is also an
online version here: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/JosCommandos/files/
11.6. Question: Who is my Set Coordinator?
Answer: Ask your other Set mates.
• Each Set is to appoint their Set Coordinators and
inform the Coordination/Implementation sub-committee.
11.7. Question: I am in the 2000-2011 Set, what do I do?
Answer: The 2000-2011 Sets are exempted for now because they are mostly
Students and/or have not found their feet yet.
• If any of these Sets want to contribute, please
contact the Coordination/Implementation sub-committee.
11.8. Question: Can I get my Dad/Mom to donate?
Answer: Anything your Parents give will be seen as YOUR
contribution.
• This is an Old Students affair. Let's see what we
can do on our own first.
• There is a risk in allowing everyone to start
soliciting for funds by themselves. Some monies
collected on our behalf may never get to us!
• A Grand Fund Raising Event can be organized for
Friends of CSS Jos where Parents can be accommodated,
but that is for the school Authorities to decide.
11.9. Question: What is the Central Account Number?
Answer: That is still being worked out.
• Each Set is to make arrangements to collect their
contributions and should only remit their full 1m
after they hit the target. This will help
reconciliation difficulties that will arise if
everyone is depositing money into one account.
• To avoid temptation, each Set can start depositing
when the amount gets to N250,000. But only one
designated person per Set will do the depositing on
behalf of their Sets.
11.10. Question: How do we keep track of the monies contributed?
Answer: A website www.commandjos.net is up and running for
the Project with a teaser.
