Stay blessed, Kofo Owojori (’86) Adam John (’86) ________________________________ From: Adam <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Sent: Friday, September 30, 2011 12:14 PM Subject: [Jos Commandos] CSS JOS Intervention Fund CSS JOS Intervention Fund Every Alumni of Command Secondary School, Jos ("CSS Jos") is aware that our dear Alma mater is in a bad state and requires urgent attention especially in the area of infrastructure. We hereby propose the creation of an Intervention Fund that will be sourced from amongst all Jos Commandos. Using "Set-Coordinators", the idea entails that the first 17 Sets of CSS Jos contribute 1 million naira per set resulting in 17 million. We will also vigorously pursue the possibility of getting match-grants from Organisations so as to raise the amount to 34million. The Project will be coordinated by a committee made up of the Chairs of the Five known Chapters: Lagos, Abuja, PH, USA and UK-Ireland. The Project is planned with an eye on the 35th Anniversary Celebrations of CSS Jos in September 2012. Please find below the summary of the Project for your perusal. We are open to useful suggestions from you. Thank you. Owojori Kofo ('86) Sagai John Adam ('86) September 26, 2011 PS. Please note that this Project does not stop any Chapter or Set from doing their bit for CSS Jos, we just feel our impact will be bigger when we all gang up together. Question: Can I pay in $$$ or £££? Answer: Fine. Just sort it out with your Set Coordinator. 11.3. Question: Is it going to be an on-going thing? Every Year? Answer: There are currently no plans to make it yearly. Let's just concentrate on this first attempt and make it a success. All Sets have always been free to come together and do something for CSS Jos. 11.4. Question: I don't know where my set mates are! Answer: Every Set has someone who seems to know where everyone else is. Find that person in your Set and link up. Or search "command secondary school" on Facebook. 11.5. Question: I have forgotten my Set mates! Answer: You can find all the list of CSS Jos Alumni in the 25th and 30th Anniversary Publications. There is also an online version here: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/JosCommandos/files/ 11.6. Question: Who is my Set Coordinator? Answer: Ask your other Set mates. • Each Set is to appoint their Set Coordinators and inform the Coordination/Implementation sub-committee. 11.7. Question: I am in the 2000-2011 Set, what do I do? Answer: The 2000-2011 Sets are exempted for now because they are mostly Students and/or have not found their feet yet. • If any of these Sets want to contribute, please contact the Coordination/Implementation sub-committee. 11.8. Question: Can I get my Dad/Mom to donate? Answer: Anything your Parents give will be seen as YOUR contribution. • This is an Old Students affair. Let's see what we can do on our own first. • There is a risk in allowing everyone to start soliciting for funds by themselves. Some monies collected on our behalf may never get to us! • A Grand Fund Raising Event can be organized for Friends of CSS Jos where Parents can be accommodated, but that is for the school Authorities to decide. 11.9. Question: What is the Central Account Number? Answer: That is still being worked out. • Each Set is to make arrangements to collect their contributions and should only remit their full 1m after they hit the target. This will help reconciliation difficulties that will arise if everyone is depositing money into one account. • To avoid temptation, each Set can start depositing when the amount gets to N250,000. But only one designated person per Set will do the depositing on behalf of their Sets. 11.10. Question: How do we keep track of the monies contributed? Answer: A website www.commandjos.net is up and running for the Project with a teaser.
