I usually do it dynamically on clicks, well after the onload event. Even if the images are already loaded and in cache, when I clone the node and do calulation on the layout, the image is not already retrived from the cache. For me the solution for me, I add width and height. And I haven't tried the new jQ 1.3, which may not have this little problem. Didn't want to talk about this on this thread, I misread the real topic :)
