John, I'm sure you read my recent new post regarding the DOC nit.
You need to add, correct or clarify information on:
params (Object): (optional) A set of key/value pairs that will be
sent as data to the server.
As noted in my post, this does not send key/value pairs and you go
directly to jQuery.param() to show it:
console.log($.param("k1=v1"));
spits out:
0=k&1=1&2==&3=v&4=1&5=&&6=k&7=2&8==&9=v&10=2
