[jQuery] Superfish image buttons for main menu items only

Help please. Does anyone have a working example with over/out buttons
for main menu items? The submenus are all text-based. I am trying to
build one with separate buttons for each state, but am open to
building with multiple states in a single image and just adjusting the
position accordingly on hover. I've searched the group, but have not
found one. I did find some references but the example links were 404d.
