I have also left out the mouseleave event, and applied the mouseup to the whole document instead of to the table, that way even if I leave the table but still have the mouse button down, I don't lose the value in the variable. Only if I let go of the mouse button (on or off the table) do I reset the variable. @Ricardo and @jscripter: does this work good?
