[jQuery] jquery issues in IE

I'm having a few problems with jquery and IE compatibility.

I'm new to jquery so still learning!

I'm trying to implement the scrollTo and prettyPhoto plugin on my
website - http://jainamistry.com

Both are working perfectly in Firefox, however neither work in IE.

This is how i'm initializing both of the plugins:

                        $.localScroll();

                        $("a[rel^='prettyPhoto']").prettyPhoto({
                                animationSpeed: 'normal', /* fast/slow/normal */
                                padding: 40, /* padding for each side of the 
picture */
                                opacity: 0.5, /* Value betwee 0 and 1 */
                                showTitle: false, /* true/false */
                                allowresize: true, /* true/false */
                                counter_separator_label: '/', /* The separator 
for the gallery
counter 1 "of" 2 */
                                theme: 'light_square', /* light_rounded / 
dark_rounded /
light_square / dark_square */
                                callback: function(){}
                        });
                });

In IE, it seems to have a problem with the first line, saying that it
is not defined. Anyone throw me a bone?
