can go many levels wide, just keep adding sub UL's to the li's. There is a working example on main superfish site for multiple levels wide for vertical menu http://users.tpg.com.au/j_birch/plugins/superfish/#sample3 more than likely your issue is how to get your eCommerce platform to create the sub categories.
