[OOC: Please don't take any of this personally. It is not meant as an attack, either from the character or the player]
<ooc: I discussed it with chris early this am before I responded...I am responding exactly as he sees the ...questions :)>
>Steven nodded. He tried to make his inquiry as politely as he could. "Mr. Watson, I am not implying that any this is your fault or your responsibility. I was just >curious as to how, in light of the current situation, you were allowed even near their system since they seem to not want anyone near them. After all, we were told >not to go anywhere near the system, they seem determined to destroy anyone who does go near them. And since you have indicated that you have spent time >among them, I figured you would know better than anyone here what their mindset is. This is not a personal attack or anything. But, aside from your briefing on >day one, I know virtually nothing about these people."
"Things can change...and obviously they have changed from when I lived here previously. However the mystery is the same for me as it is for you. They are now obviously hiding something, and I cannot even venture an educated guess at this time on what it is."
>Steven paused for a moment and considered something before he spoke again.
>"And as for 'remembering' when the Klingons were a hated enemy, I don't need to remember all that hard. I was there. And sometimes I still have difficulty >remembering that they aren't enemies anymore."
Watson didn't respond.
>Caimlyn had a question that he was hoping could be answered. "Sir, may I ask
>why the Ramesar might have allowed some of the Protector's crew to survive planetside?
>It is clear that they had superior firepower and that they did not foreigners on this planet. You might have some insight."
(ooc: Assume you meant the south hampton??)
Watson thought for a moment, "As to their survival, it is difficult for me to speculate. This behavior is not typical Ramesar....something has changed from within but I do not know what." He turned to Bedru, "Admiral-I would like to request permission to speak to the survivors that were beamed to Sickbay if possible. Perhaps I can gain more information."
