Hi Victor,

Sorry for my slow response, getting a bit behind of email over the weekend.

I am running Windows 7 professional 64Bit. I had applied all windows updates prior to installing Sonar and JSonar. Yes, UAC was disabled.

When following the instructions to manually register the JSonar.dll I did notice that there was a jsonar.dll and a jsonar_x64.dll. I followed the instructions and successfully registered the jsonar.dll, but still got the message when starting sonar that I must run the jsonar startup wizard by pressing control+JawsKey+r. I can do this, but instantly get the error about the jsonar surface needing to be manually registered.

I then thought I had nothing to loose by trying to register manually, the jsonar_X64.dll and recieved an error stating something about the side by side configuration being incorrect. If on the 64 bit systems, we should be registering the 64bit version of the dll, let me know and Iwill re-install again and sent the exact error message.

Thanks for yur help,
Brett.

OK, what edition of Windows 7 are you running? I run Ultimate here and everything seems to work fine.
Anybody, please?

Hi Vic,
I would like to confirm that we did not forget to turn of UAC. At least I
know I didn't. As a matter of fact, I leave UAC off for I am annoyed of
having to confirm to everything I am trying to make change of. For this
reason, we was wondering if there is another possible solution. Thank you.
Ratha

Brett,
UAC, UAC, UAC. I heard it from various people but once they made sure
their UAC was set all the way to 0, the registration problems went away.

Hi Victor,

A couple of us have had problems with the jsonar.dll under windows 7
X64. We get an error stating the jsonar surface isn't installed. Both of
us tried all the instructions in the readme with no success. If I
install the 32Bit version of sonar, it works fine.

No one had any ideas on the jsonar.dll issues. Do you have any ideas, or
could this perhaps be looked at in future updates?

Thanks for all you do, it is greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
Brett.

Hello all,
Due to various circumstances, I was not able to participate i nthe
JSonar project as much as I would have liked to.
At this stage, however, I am wondering what, in your opinion, the most
screaming issues in the latest snapshot of JSonar are. It would be
great for us to release an official version of JSonar8. About time?
<smile>
