Hi Vic, It's all subjective of course, but personally I'd vote to keep meter functionality even if it's a tad buggy. Something is better than nothing, especially in this area of recording.
If you want to avoid disappointing people or the repeated questions, perhaps just be a bit more forthright in the readme about the meter functionality being shady at present, and perhaps explain why for anyone who's interested.
