U have it wrong man, dimension is a synth which comes with its own sounds.
You can add expansion packs and your own sounds to dimension, but it isn't
really a sampler. VSampler is just that, a sampler. It can open up various
formats of samples and can manipulate samples and create samples etc. Most
of VSampler is inaccessible to us, and don't ask about accessibility or
anything, the product is old and I don't think it's even in production any
more. You can use VSampler to load sf2 or giga or some halion or akai disks
etc, but you would use dimension pro to play its built-in sounds and use it
like that. It's like buying a motif and an akai pc5000. The motif (though
some have a sampler) is mainly for playing the built-in sounds and using it
for generating music out of the box. The akai you load samples on it and
then use it, or maniuplate samples and then use it etc. They're 2 different
products used for 2 different tasks. Get it?
If you have lots of sound fonts or different samples in various formats or
libraries in various unprotected formats, VSampler might be a good
investment, if you can even get it anymore. If you want an overall general
synth which has various sounds like a workstation keyboard does, then
dimension pro is what you need. I personally use them both.
