As a matter of fact, for us long time jsonar users, it is extremely kind to processing power, and uses less than anything in sonar.

but again I can't state strongly enough, when your hardware is very marginal, anything can make a difference.

I hate to keep beating the same horse, and making the same point, but a netbook is very much not an appropriate machine to try and run sonar on, you will have lots of frustrations.

I say this not to be right, but to save you hassles, because you'll be right back on here asking why this doesn't work, and why that doesn't work, never mind what you read on some forum, there are very experienced users on here like DJX, Roy, Phil and Vic and I humbly submit that I might fall in to that camp myself, though I certainly don't have Roy's or Vic's programming chops, but I've put together many systems for my self and others and have been doing this since 1991 as far as computers are concerned.

The hardware element is really the most important part of the equation, and if it can't do what the software asks of it, well, your just not going to get results.

We did all kinds of things, disabling multi-processing support, and turning off everything we could, and still, my poor students netbook never did record adequately, and to top it off, she burned it up after a while, probably trying to do things with it it couldn't do and it over-heated.

So listen to the voice of experience and those who have knowledge, and either run something much less demanding like sonar 4, or reaper, and wait till you get a more powerful computer and you will be much happier.

I know that this will cost you more money, but that's just how it is.

As a studio operator and business man, i have to budget for gear I want to use, and I can't always afford what I want as a given time, well, you just have to save up.

I wish you luck and prosperity in your goals, and hope you don't take offense at what I wrote.

Hi Gabriel,
I just can't think of anything that JSonar would do to destabilize your computer.
