some times I have to hit the (`) key and bring focus to the track strip. also
after making shore I'm on the name part of the track arrowing down to the next
track and back up again some times helps. Having the synth rack or some other
view will cause problems as well.

Weird, when I tried that nothing even happened. I used to be able to do this
but when I updated to sonar 8 and windows seven everything went away now I just
have to clone a track with a send on it.

Go to the name colom of the bus or track you want to add the send to and
press control aplications key. you will find the option by arrowing down I
think two times.
