I think that one really awesome book is by Wrox called Professional Java
Server Programming. It is incredibly up to date (JSP 1.0, servlets 2.0/2.1,
etc) and covers the whole domain of Java, servlets, JSP, XML, JDBC, JNDI,
RMI, JavaMail, CORBA, Jini/JavaSpaces, etc. A big book!
