Rick:

The description of the problem sounds a little odd. (Browsers don't
interpret JSPs; browsers interpret html type code. JSPs are interpreted at
the server when they are compiled. After that, JSPs run much as a Servlet
runs -- JSPs are Servlets.)

I'll assume you want to write in your html response something like this:

    <p> Here is how you will write a jsp someTag &quot;&lt;% someTag
%&gt;&qout;</p>

(The tag portion will display as "<% someTag %>").

Within your html response, you may include the characters you listed. Be
sure to replace "<" with &lt; and ">" with &gt;. I don't think "*" and "%"
will cause browser problems.

If you are having problems beyond this, I'd suspect a problem with your JSP
code. Tell us more. I'm sure someone in the group will see something that
may help you out.
