i couldn't agree more.  i used to try to answer as many questions as i
could, but it soon dawned on me that i was doing the legwork for lazy
people.  they were getting a free ride on the many hours i had spent
figuring out such things for myself.  it seems that about 95% of the posts
to this list have become just such as these.  now i just scan subject lines,
and only read mails posted by a group of about five.  the rest go in the
rubbish bin..
